Hongqiao Lvyuan Apartments: EnerPHit Pilot Project
The Landsea Green Property corporation of Shanghai, China hired Intep to support the refurbishment of the “Hongqiao Lvyuan” condominium complex, located in the southeast area of the Changning district, west of downtown Shanghai, and consisting of three existing five-story buildings - North, South and East. The goal of the refurbishment project was to learn, understand, implement and ultimately meet the retrofit version of the international Passive House building energy standard called EnerPHit—making this project a first in China.
Intep was commissioned to support the Client and their design team by establishing concise building component requirements, creating Passive House energy models, evaluating proposed retrofit design concepts for the building envelope (typical slab, wall and roof assemblies, windows and doors, potential thermal bridging and air tightness layer), as well as the development of typical mechanical systems (ventilation, heating/ cooling and dehumidification, renewable energy systems). Subsequently, we were tasked to propose and manage the implmentation of solutions and measures which meet the previously established component targets. Our work was conducted across three continents in a dynamic team and process, and enabled the implementation of measures on the construction of the first of the three buildings to put Landsea on track to deliver high-performance projects in their home market.
